Customs Clearance (CHA)

Customs brokerage for imports and exports across India.

Overview

Customs Clearance (CHA)

Customs clearance is where most shipments get delayed. A wrong HS code, a missing licence or an unclear invoice can hold cargo for days and add demurrage. Our customs team checks your documents before the cargo lands, so the Bill of Entry or Shipping Bill is filed correctly the first time.

We handle the full clearance cycle on ICEGATE: filing, assessment, examination, duty payment and out-of-charge, and keep you updated on WhatsApp at every stage.

What we handle

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How long does customs clearance take?

When documents are complete and no examination is ordered, clearance usually takes 1–2 working days after the cargo arrives. Examination or queries can add time; we tell you upfront if we see a risk.

What if my goods are held for examination?

Our team attends the examination with the customs officer, answers queries and arranges any additional documents so the cargo is released as early as possible.

How is import duty calculated?

Duty is calculated on the assessable (CIF) value at the rates for your HS code: Basic Customs Duty, Social Welfare Surcharge and IGST, plus any anti-dumping or safeguard duty. We share an estimate before arrival.

Do I need to be present for clearance?

No. With a signed authorisation, we handle clearance on your behalf and share every document digitally.

Can you clear at any port in India?

Yes. We handle clearance at seaports, ICDs, CFSs and air cargo complexes across India.
